Anxiety, Astrocyte Activation & Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain

My latest Open Access paper investigating the effect of existing anxiety on future osteoarthritis pain is now available.

Joint first authors James Burston and Ana Valdes and colleagues report on 'The impact of anxiety on chronic musculoskeletal pain and the role of astrocyte activation' in the journal Pain. It was a huge collaborative effort including basic science and animal models, with imaging and clinical data from Knee Pain in the Community Cohort.
