UK Clinical Research Facility (UKCRF) Network 2019 Conference

I am delighted to share that we will be presenting a poster 'Patient and Public Involvement in Research: a new module for undergraduate medical students delivered through co-production' at this year's UK Clinical Research Facility (UKCRF) Network 15th Annual Conference.

This year a new BMedSci module was created, introducing second-year medical students to Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) across the research life cycle, its importance in good research and the benefits gained from a patient perspective. The module was co-produced and co-delivered by staff from the School of Medicine, NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), and members of the public, all part of the East Midlands Sharebank network.

We will present at the conference our experiences of providing co-produced and co-delivered PPI teaching and training.

To celebrate Nottingham as a centre of excellence for PPIE, this year, for the first time, there will be an allocated lounge at the Annual Conference where patients, the public and researchers can come together to network and discuss important PPIE topics.

The theme of the national conference is “Curing the incurable: Interdisciplinary approaches to research” and will be hosted by the Nottingham CRF at the East Midlands Conference Centre, University of Nottingham on the 27th and 28th June 2019.
